Job summary

Argo Coal Management's Ironbark site seeks a seasoned Superintendent of Technical Services to shape the operation's future performance. You will lead the site Technical Services team, connect mine planning, technical excellence and operational execution to deliver safe, productive and optimised outcomes.

This role demands extensive coal mining leadership, strong budgeting, and the ability to engage with site personnel across engineering, geology and development planning.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a similar position within coal.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Experience leading teams and contractor management.
• Ability to oversee system reviews and implement improvements.
• Experience budgeting and cost control processes.
• Decisive, accountable and able to drive results.
• Strong relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership to the site Technical Services team.
• Coordinate short, medium and long‑term mine planning and design.
• Oversee surveying, ventilation and gas drainage, geology and geotech work.
• Support business development and optimisation aligned with operations.
• Manage budget, costs and performance improvement initiatives.
