Job summary

UNITEC in Kilsyth South (Melbourne) is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to build long-term relationships with producers, packhouses and agro-industrial businesses, visiting customers to understand needs and deliver tailored solutions.

You will prepare commercial proposals, support projects from discussion to implementation, and blend hands-on technical insight with customer-focused sales in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the fruit & vegetable industry, agro-processing, or industrial machinery.
• Technical aptitude (mechanical, automation, agricultural, or similar).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

For our branch in Kilsyth South (Melbourne), we are looking for an:

Technical Sales Manager

About The Job

In this role, you will develop long-term relationships with producers, packhouses and agro-industrial businesses, visiting customers to understand their needs and gather the technical information required to create customized solutions. You will prepare commercial proposals and presentations and support customers through all project stages, from initial discussions to final implementation. We are seeking someone proactive, curious and confident working across both technical and commercial environments, in a hands-on position that combines customer engagement with technical and strategic insight.

Requirements

• Experience in the fruit & vegetable industry, agro-processing, or industrial machinery.
• Technical aptitude (mechanical, automation, agricultural, or similar experience).
• Flexibility to travel (approx. 60% travel / 40% office, depending on season), including trade shows and industry events.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Strong skills in analysis, organization, and project follow-up.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage your time effectively.
• Reliability, independence, and a strong customer-focused mindset.
