NEPEAN Conveyors NSW is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer/Estimator for mining and materials handling projects based in Gulgong or Unanderra. You will manage key accounts, develop technical solutions at tender stage, and prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication and machining jobs.

The role requires an engineering qualification, strong drafting skills, and knowledge of heavy industry fabrication. Mining experience is preferred, with opportunities for career development at NEPEAN.

Qualifications

• Tertiary or trade qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of heavy industry fabrications, machining and fitting processes.
• People with mining experience preferred.
• Sound knowledge of conveyor systems.
• Sound knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting packages (Advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop close relationships with key accounts and ensure their requirements are met by the company's products.
• Assist in developing technical solutions at tender stage for fast turnaround.

To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer/Estimator to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design and manufacturing facilities in either Gulgong, or Unanderra NSW.

In this facility we work within a team of project managers, engineers, designers and fabricators on projects large and small.

Daily duties will typically include:

• Maintain and develop close relationships with key accounts and ensure their requirements are being met by the company's products where possible
• Assist in developing new and strategic technical solutions at the tender stage to ensure fast turnaround
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication and machining jobs
• Liaise with workshop supervisors, engineers, and suppliers
• Source and obtain quotes for materials and subcontract work
• Prepare quotations and tender submissions
• Analyse project risks and profitability
• Achieve sales targets of allocated territory/product by developing new business with existing and potential clients
• Assist in the determination of the overall sales budget and strategy
• Actively monitor market trends through personal contact with clients and suppliers and attendance at industry association meetings and seminars
• Recommend variations in product, formulation or package design and participate in regular production and sales meetings to communicate field intelligence
• Participate in setting strategies and determining business plans related to assigned products or customers
• Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on the application of company products or services to customer requirements
• Estimate cost of supplying NEPEAN Conveyors core products and systems to client
• Run sales level conveyor calculations to assist in upfront selection of equipment

The Right Person

The ideal candidate for this position would have:

• Tertiary and/or trade qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of heavy industry fabrications, machining and fitting processes
• People with previous experience mining experience (Preferable)
• Sound conveyor knowledge
• Sound knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting packages (Advantageous).
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
