Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Australia seeks a Technical Sales professional to support Bay Level Products and Grid Automation solutions, strengthening the reliability and availability of MV and HV electrical power grids. You will apply your technical skillset to support assigned territories in APAC, acting as a crucial link between engineering teams, factory and customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
5–10 years of experience in technical sales, presales, or a relevant engineering role, preferably in the utility sector.
Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and industry events.
Knowledge of Hitachi Energy product lines or related technologies is advantageous.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results orientation.

Responsibilities

Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories and target accounts.
Conduct in-depth technical presentations and demonstrations of Hitachi Energy's Protection and Control products and solutions to prospective and existing clients.
Collaborate with customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, then propose tailored Hitachi Energy solutions.
Provide technical leadership for Sales teams during customer meetings, product presentations and negotiations.
Support bid/no bid analyses and participate in project risk review processes.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and technical contacts.
Work closely with internal engineering, product development, and support teams to ensure customer application requirements are captured and satisfied.
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and Hitachi Energy's evolving product portfolio.
Offer product and application related trainings for customer accounts and internal teams.
Provide market feedback to product management and engineering teams for future product enhancements and development.
Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events as a Hitachi representative.
