Job summary

Hitachi Energy Australia Pty Ltd in Brisbane invites a Technical Sales professional to support and deploy applications for reliable MV/HV grid operations. You will drive Bay Level Products within the Grid Automation portfolio across APAC, while engaging customers to tailor solutions that meet critical infrastructure needs.

The role requires 5–10 years in technical sales or engineering, strong communication, and the ability to travel to client sites and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in technical sales, presales, or a relevant engineering role, preferably within the Utility sector.
• Strong understanding of complex technical concepts and the ability to articulate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel frequently to customer sites and industry events.
• Knowledge of Hitachi Energy's product lines or related technologies (e.g., Relion 670 series, MicroSCADA, RTU500 series) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories and target accounts.
• Conduct in-depth technical presentations and demonstrations of Hitachi Energy's Protection and Control products and solutions to prospective and existing clients.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, then propose tailored Hitachi Energy solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for Sales teams during customer meetings, product presentations and negotiations.
• Supports bid/no bid analyses and decisions. Participates in project risk review processes.
• Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decisionmakers and technical contacts.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and Hitachi Energy's evolving product portfolio.
