Job summary

Actech International is seeking a Sales Engineer & Business Development professional based in Melbourne to drive new business and support customers with technical product knowledge and quotes. The role involves engaging architects, engineers and specifiers, conducting technical demonstrations, and developing opportunities from early design stages through to project sale.

Headquartered with a Pascoe Vale base, the candidate will require an engineering or technical degree and a proven track record

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical degree required.
• Experience in specification sales, business development, or technical product sales within building materials.
• Proven success influencing architects, engineers and consultants to secure specifications.
• Solid understanding of precast concrete, formwork or civil infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) or precast manufacturing.
• Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and track new projects at early design/tender stages.
• Engage consultants, architects, engineers, and specifiers to include Actech products in BOQs and specs.
• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
• Provide pre-sales technical advice and demonstrations to customers.
• Maintain a strong specification pipeline and convert to sales.
• Build relationships with precast, civil infrastructure, and formwork accounts.
• Identify production constraints and propose solutions with Technical Service and BD support.
• Collaborate with local/regional sales teams, R&D and Marketing.
• Monitor competitors and market trends; provide forecasts and reports.
• Support product launches and market penetration initiatives.
