Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join an Australian-owned engineering business delivering bespoke machinery and automation solutions in Western Sydney. This role blends technical problem solving with business development, from initial enquiry through to proposal, negotiation and project handover.

You will visit customer sites to understand production requirements, qualify scope and budgets, and work with engineering to develop practical machinery and automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience selling engineered equipment, machinery, automation or technical solutions.
• Proven ability to progress project-based sales through to confirmed orders.
• Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
• Technical understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment.
• Commercial awareness around project scope, costing and margins.
• Strong proposal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Autonomous work style with engineering/workshop teams.
• Mechanically minded and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business and grow existing customer relationships.
• Manage technical sales opportunities from enquiry through to order.
• Visit customer sites to understand production requirements and applications.
• Qualify project scope, budget, stakeholders and timelines.
• Work with engineering to develop practical machinery and automation solutions.
• Coordinate quotations and prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Present solutions, negotiate opportunities and manage customer expectations.
• Support demonstrations, trials and technical discussions.
• Provide clear project handovers to engineering and delivery teams.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecasts.
