Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an Australian-owned team in Western Sydney. You will design bespoke machinery and automation concepts, taking projects from initial idea through manufacture and testing to delivery.

You'll collaborate with manufacturing, automation, electrical and supplier partners, using SolidWorks to develop solutions and work on multi-project life cycles on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer.
• Experience with special purpose machinery, automation or packaging equipment.
• Experience with PDM Vault would be advantageous.
• Understanding of pneumatic and motion control systems.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on mindset in a manufacturing environment.
• Long-term commitment to join an established team.

Responsibilities

• Develop customised mechanical concepts and solutions
• Take projects from concept and detailed design through manufacture, testing and delivery
• Produce mechanical designs using SolidWorks
• Work with pneumatic and motion control devices and systems
• Collaborate with mechanical, automation and electrical engineers
• Work closely with manufacturing and assembly teams
• Liaise with suppliers to select appropriate hardware and components
• Work with customers to understand requirements and develop practical solutions
• Manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Maintain accurate engineering and project documentation
• Identify practical and creative solutions to engineering challenges
