Field Service Technician

Our client is a recognised global leader supplying and supporting packaging and processing equipment in the food industry.

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Field Service Technician with a focus on automated packaging and processing equipment. Working as part of the service team, you will be involved in the maintenance servicing, breakdown support and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Regional travel throughout Victoria is involved with potential occasional interstate or international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out service work as specified in existing service contracts
• Install machinery and assist with the commissioning of new machines to customer requirements
• Carry out maintenance and repairs
• Execute modifications and upgrades of existing machines
• Maintain internal relationships with sales and technical teams through effective communication

Who We Are Looking For

• Qualified Electrician with mechanical aptitude or a mechanical trade + restricted electrical license
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting (extra low voltage 24 VDC)
• Experience with motor and drive technologies (servo motors) and PLC control technology (not coding)
• Strong computer knowledge, network structure, ethernet, EtherCAT and serial communication protocols
• Experience in food industry with packaging and processing equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a methodical approach to solving technical issues
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals and drawings
• Intermediate knowledge in MS Office with comfort using various apps/software on associated devices
• Driver's license
