Job summary

Kinexus, in partnership with a leading Defence engineering organisation, seeks a Technical Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of complex hardware and software systems from design through customer acceptance.

You will manage plans, budgets and schedules, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements, including eligibility for Australian Defence clearance at NV1 level.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (electronics, electrical, systems or software)

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects involving hardware and software systems.

• Monitor project expenditure, financial performance, risks and delivery progress.

• Work closely with technical leads to ensure solutions meet customer and contractual requirements.
• Manage customer relationships, expectations and successful acceptance of delivered systems.
• Identify and manage project risks, technical challenges and commercial constraints.

Technical Project Manager - Defence Engineering

Kinexus is partnering with a leading Defence engineering organisation to recruit an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex engineering projects and systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong engineering background who has experience managing the execution and delivery of technical systems to customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from design and development through to production, testing and final customer acceptance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required technical standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects involving hardware and software systems.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts and deliverables.
• Take ownership of project execution, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
• Monitor project expenditure, financial performance, risks and delivery progress.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, ideally Electronics, Electrical, Systems, Software or a related discipline.
• Experience in Project Management, preferably within engineering or technical product development environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex engineering systems or products to customers.
• Strong background in project execution, budget management, cost forecasting and schedule management.
• Experience managing engineering projects involving integrated hardware and software systems.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering projects against agreed budgets and milestones.
• Experience within Defence, aerospace, electronics, communications or other highly regulated engineering industries will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, Earned Value Management and tools such as MS Project, Jira or Confluence.
• Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance to NV1 level.
