Job summary

Kinexus is partnering with a leading Defence organisation in Sydney to recruit a Senior Engineering Lead. The role combines strong people leadership with a technical design engineering background to guide a multidisciplinary team through complex Defence capability lifecycles.

You will mentor engineers, review technical solutions, drive engineering standards and shape the direction of the engineering function.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in an engineering discipline.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Hands-on design engineering background and lifecycle experience.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Provide engineering leadership and technical direction across projects.
Oversee design development, reviews and technical decision-making.
Oversight across design, systems integration, verification, validation and sustainment.
Review and challenge solutions for practicality and compliance.
Drive governance, quality, configuration management and assurance in a regulated environment.
Manage resources, priorities and delivery.
Collaborate with project, production and commercial teams to achieve outcomes.
Develop engineering capability through coaching and leadership.
Drive continuous improvement and promote best practices.
Build relationships with senior stakeholders and Defence customers.
Contribute to strategic planning and ongoing engineering direction.
