Job summary

Kinexus seeks an experienced Defence Assurance and Asset Management professional to lead the growth of our Defence service in Sydney or Canberra. The role combines market development, client leadership and technical expertise to shape opportunities and deliver value in Defence estates and asset management.

You will establish relationships with senior Defence stakeholders, identify opportunities, and drive high-quality bids while ensuring strong delivery outcomes and robust risk management.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of assurance and asset management in Defence, Government, Industrial or Utilities environments.
• Established relationships and understanding of the Australian Defence market.
• Business development and client engagement experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• NV1 clearance required to be successful.
• Proactive, collaborative and commercially focused approach.

• Develop and implement a national Defence estate assurance and asset management strategy.

• Identify, shape and convert new business opportunities.
• Lead high-quality bids, pursuits and strategic client engagements.
• Strengthen market presence through industry engagement, thought leadership and strategic partnerships.
• Work with project leaders to manage performance, risk, value and client outcomes.
• Manage pipeline health, forecasting, pricing, contracts and commercial governance.
• Support the development of a high-performing, collaborative and accountable team.
• Represent the organisation at relevant Defence and industry forums
• Maintain awareness of market, regulatory and technology developments.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Defence Assurance and Asset Management professional to work in their Sydney or Canberra office.

This position will suit an established Defence consultant and entrepreneurial leader who combines strong technical knowledge of assurance and asset management with commercial acumen, market insight and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior Defence stakeholders.

You will lead the growth of the Defence assurance and asset management service, helping shape market strategy, identify and develop opportunities, strengthen client relationships and translate complex Defence requirements into sustainable solutions.

Working across both business development and project delivery, you will help position the organisation for new opportunities while partnering with project teams to ensure strong delivery outcomes, effective risk management and lasting value for Defence clients.

About You

• Strong technical knowledge of assurance and asset management, with experience across Defence, Government, Industrial or Utilities environments.
• Established relationships and a strong understanding of the Australian Defence market.
• Demonstrated business development and client engagement experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in asset management or a related discipline.
• A proactive, collaborative and commercially focused approach.
• Must hold an NV1 clearance to be successful.
