Job summary

iterate is looking for a Technical Lead to guide a small team building enterprise-grade digital experiences in Melbourne. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor developers and perform hands-on work across React/Next.js, .NET Core APIs, and cloud-native Azure/Kubernetes deployments.

You will champion code quality, testing and CI/CD, collaborating with product and delivery leads while exploring AI-enabled improvements across engineering and business processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead for a small development team.
• Strong solution design skills and pragmatic architecture decisions.
• Hands-on React experience, plus Next.js and Nx monorepo tooling.
• Experience integrating front ends with .NET Core APIs.
• Working knowledge of Azure (App Insights, AKS, Storage) and Kubernetes in production.
• Track record guiding developers, reviewing technical approaches and keeping quality high.
• Hands-on experience applying AI to engineering and delivery within security/governance boundaries.
• Solid grounding in software design principles, patterns and SOLID.

Technical Lead - React, Next.js, .NET Core, Azure and Kubernetes

Lead a small engineering team building digital experiences used by millions of Australians

About the role

You'll lead a small team of developers delivering customer-facing digital experiences, taking work from discovery and solution design through to production. It's a true player-coach role. Some days you're running technical discussions, reviewing approaches and making pragmatic architecture calls. Other days you're hands‑on in React/Next.js, working through .NET Core API integrations or digging into something tricky on Azure and AKS. You'll work closely with product, backend engineers and delivery leads, mentor less experienced developers, and champion code quality, testing and CI/CD across the team. There's also a real mandate to spot where AI can improve engineering, delivery and wider business processes, within sensible security and governance guardrails.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead for a small development team
• Strong solution design skills and a habit of making pragmatic architecture decisions
• Hands‑on React experience, plus Next.js and Nx monorepo tooling
• Experience integrating front ends with .NET Core APIs
• Working knowledge of Azure (App Insights, AKS, Storage, databases) and Kubernetes in production
• A track record of guiding developers, reviewing technical approaches and keeping quality high
• Hands‑on experience applying AI to engineering and delivery (e.g. Copilot, agent-based tooling, automation), and taking it beyond the dev team into wider business processes, within security and governance requirements
• Solid grounding in software design principles, patterns and SOLID
• Bonus: Sitecore JSS / headless experience
• Bonus: health insurance or healthcare industry background
