Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Director - Flooding and Water Resources in Queensland/Australia to provide strategic direction and senior oversight of complex water resources and flood modelling programs. You will mentor engineers, influence client outcomes, and guide multidisciplinary teams across transport, civil infrastructure, energy and development projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
Significant experience in hydrology, hydraulics, flood modelling, stormwater and water resources.
Proven track record leading complex technical projects with governance.
Hands-on experience with modelling tools listed above.
RPEQ and/or Chartered status is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical leadership across flooding, hydrology, hydraulics and water resources.
Lead technical delivery, review and governance for flood modelling and related studies.
Act as trusted advisor to clients and project partners with strategic input.
Oversee multidisciplinary teams to ensure practical, compliant outputs.
Prepare, review and approve reports, modelling outputs and tender inputs.
Drive quality, risk management and commercial outcomes across projects.
Mentor engineers and support succession planning within the team.
Support work winning and growth opportunities in flooding and water resources.
