Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Director Transport Planning for Brisbane or Sunshine Coast offices. The role leads planning, design and delivery of major transport and urban mobility projects, aligning technical excellence with client leadership and business growth.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, sustainable transport solutions that improve accessibility and connectivity across Queensland, mentoring teams and expanding the Urban Mobility capability.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Urban Planning or related discipline.
RPEQ registration or eligibility for accreditation.
Chartered status or progress towards chartership is highly regarded.
Extensive experience in transport planning, urban mobility or integrated transport projects.
Strong knowledge of public transport planning, multi-modal networks and strategy development.
Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, risks and quality.
Collaborative leadership with mentoring and team development.

Responsibilities

Lead delivery of complex transport planning and infrastructure projects with technical leadership.
Manage client relationships, stakeholder engagement and business development activities.
Mentor transport professionals and support high-performing teams.
Develop and grow Urban Mobility capability across Queensland.
Coordinate planning, traffic engineering, modelling and infrastructure design inputs.
Oversee transport strategies, business cases and corridor planning studies.
