Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Adelaide seeks a Senior Water Engineer to lead design inputs for water and wastewater infrastructure across pipelines, treatment facilities, and networks. You will guide junior engineers, apply safety in design, coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure deliverables meet programme, budget and quality.

Qualifications

• Must have experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects (pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, drainage systems or network assets).
• Strong civil design capability including calculations, drawings, specifications, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to manage design risks and resolve civil, geotechnical, and constructability interfaces.
• Sound knowledge of Australian standards, client requirements, and safety in design.
• Confident communication and stakeholder engagement; chartership or progress toward accreditation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical deliverables for water and wastewater projects.
• Lead design development across pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, drainage systems and network assets.
• Undertake technical assurance with design reviews and safety in design principles.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and manage interfaces, ensuring programme and budget alignment.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly and mentor junior engineers.
