BTP Australia is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to own the architecture and delivery of AI-enabled finance automation across RPA, document processing, and workflow. You will lead a distributed development team, set engineering standards, and guide complex implementations with direct impact on customers and finance teams.

You'll drive technical decisions, ensure secure, scalable solutions, and shape the platform's evolution while collaborating with stakeholders and presales.

Technical Delivery Lead – AI & Finance Automation

Be the technical authority behind AI-enabled finance automation

Most technical leaders inherit someone else's architecture. Here, you'll set it. BTP is entering its next growth phase, and we need a hands-on technical leader to build the foundations it runs on. As our Technical Delivery Lead, you'll own the design and delivery of enterprise automation solutions across RPA, intelligent document processing, workflow and applied AI, and shape how our platform evolves. You'll report directly to the Managing Director and lead a distributed development team, without the layers of a large consultancy. Your decisions will directly shape how finance teams work.

The role

You'll turn business requirements into secure, scalable and supportable solutions, set engineering standards and make the key technical calls across our customer portfolio.

This is not a hands-off architecture role. You'll inspect designs and technical outputs, challenge implementation choices and step in when a complex delivery or production issue needs senior judgement. Our consultants run project cadence and functional delivery. That leaves you free to focus on solution quality, technical delivery and platform readiness.

What you'll do

• Own the architecture and technical design of enterprise automation solutions across RPA, document intelligence, workflow, integrations, APIs, data, security and cloud
• Turn functional requirements into technical designs, estimates and delivery plans
• Lead technical delivery across several customer engagements at once, removing blockers and managing dependencies
• Set practical standards for design, code review, testing, CI/CD, deployment and documentation
• Make sure releases are secure, supportable, recoverable and ready for production
• Lead technical triage and recovery when serious production incidents happen
• Lead and mentor developers, and hold infrastructure and specialist providers to clear technical standards
• Shape the platform's reference architecture, reusable components and technical roadmap, including the responsible use of AI
• Support presales with technical options, solution playbacks, feasibility advice and estimates

About you

You might currently be a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Automation Lead or senior engineering leader who is ready for broader ownership. You're comfortable moving between architecture, hands-on work and leadership. You can review a design, challenge an estimate, coach a developer, explain a risk to a customer and bring calm structure to a difficult production issue.

You'll bring:

• Strong experience leading the technical delivery of enterprise software, automation or workflow solutions
• Hands-on experience with RPA and intelligent document processing, including designing workflow/BPM solutions with human-in-the-loop steps
• Strong solution design across integrations, APIs, data, security, resilience and supportability
• Sound SDLC discipline across code review, testing, release management and CI/CD
• Experience estimating and sequencing work across concurrent projects
• Experience leading onshore, offshore, contractor or vendor resources
• Confidence leading production incidents, root-cause analysis and controlled recovery
• The ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to customers and non-technical colleagues

Highly regarded

• UiPath or a comparable RPA platform, IDP platforms, and enterprise BPM/workflow tools
• Microsoft Azure, REST APIs, authentication, messaging and secure data exchange
• Applying AI, machine learning, LLMs or intelligent orchestration to enterprise processes
• Finance operations, document-heavy or regulated environments, and ERP integration (e.g. Xero, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, TechnologyOne)
• Relevant automation, cloud, architecture or security certifications

Working arrangements

• Hybrid, preferably based in Sydney. Strong candidates based in Melbourne are encouraged to apply.
• Some customer-site attendance, team sessions and interstate travel
• Permanent full-time. We'll consider contract-to-permanent for an exceptional candidate who can contribute quickly.
• Occasional involvement in planned critical-processing windows and escalations for serious incidents. Our support team and specialist providers handle routine monitoring and infrastructure work, so this is not a 24/7 on-call role.
