Job summary

Electro Optic Systems in Canberra is seeking a junior project manager to assist planning, coordination, and delivery of technology-driven projects. You will support project managers with schedules, RAID logs, reporting, and documentation, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

The role emphasizes structured project controls, governance routines, and timely escalation of risks or issues through appropriate leadership channels.

Qualifications

• 4+ years delivering complex engineering/technology projects (defence/aerospace/high-tech preferred).
• Strong knowledge of PMBOK/PRINCE2/Agile, project controls, and governance frameworks.
• Experience assisting with supplier, vendor, or contract administration activities, including tracking deliverables and change information.
• Exposure to project cost and schedule tracking, milestone updates, budget inputs, and routine reporting.
• Ability to maintain RAID and action registers, escalate risks, and support issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of small to medium technical projects or work packages with scope, schedule, budget, and quality tracking.
• Assist in developing work breakdown structures, schedules, action registers, governance packs, and routine reporting for project control.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, commercial, and other functions to support integrated outcomes.
• Prepare agenda material, capture actions, maintain decision logs, and escalate risks or issues through the PM/Program Manager.
• Track contractual deliverables, supplier inputs, purchase actions, and change information, ensuring records are accurate.
• Assist with cost tracking, schedule updates, milestone reporting, and variance commentary for reviews.
• Maintain RAID and change registers, follow up owners, and support formal change control.
• Support EOS standards, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance through documentation and evidence.
• Contribute to lessons learned, templates, and process improvements for consistent delivery.
