Job summary

Gentu, Magentus’ cloud platform, powers thousands of clinicians; we’re looking for a Tech Lead to elevate the team, guide decision-making, and shape how software is built and quality is maintained at scale.

You’ll apply your senior engineering experience across Ruby on Rails, Node.js, TypeScript, React and AWS, partnering with Product and Design to deliver impact for Australia’s healthcare, while mentoring peers and embracing AI-enabled development.

About the Role

As a Tech Lead, your role is to elevate the team — not to be the answer to everything. You’ll shape how decisions are made, how software is built, and how we maintain quality at scale.

This is a high-impact role where your work directly affects clinicians and patients every day.

About You

You’re an experienced engineer who naturally lifts the people around you. You’ve played a key technical role in a team before and improved outcomes through your influence.

You’re comfortable leading without needing to have all the answers, and you focus on enabling better decisions across the team.

You’re also curious and hands‑on with emerging tools, particularly AI, and enjoy experimenting with new ways of building software.

You’ll bring:

• Strong experience as a Senior Engineer or Tech Lead
• Technical capability across: (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS)
• Ability to contribute across the stack, with depth in at least one area
• Experience improving engineering practices and team performance
• A proactive approach to AI-enabled development
• Strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Delivery
• A builder mindset — you enjoy creating, experimenting, and learning
• (Bonus) Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
