Job summary

UNSW College seeks a collaborative Team Leader Admissions to lead the admissions team for domestic and international applicants, ensuring accurate assessments, timely offers and efficient CoE processing.

You will coach Admissions Officers, manage workloads, monitor volumes and drive continuous process improvements while upholding a consumer-focused, compliant service culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day admissions operations for domestic and international students, ensuring accurate assessments and timely offers and CoEs.
  • Coach and develop Admissions Officers through workload planning, mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Monitor volumes, capacity and priorities to maintain service levels and deadlines.
  • Oversee admissions decisions to ensure fairness, consistency and policy compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes and participating in system enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver customer-focused admissions service.

About the Role

We are seeking a collaborative, customer-focused and enthusiastic Team Leader Admissions to join our Admissions team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high performing team responsible for delivering efficient, accurate and compliant admissions services for both domestic and international students.

Reporting to the Admissions Manager, Operations, you will provide operational leadership across the admissions lifecycle, ensuring applications are assessed accurately, service standards are achieved and prospective students receive a seamless admissions experience. You will lead, coach and develop a team of Admissions Officers while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and customer service excellence

Your day to day will consist of:

  • Leading the day-to-day delivery of admissions operations for domestic and international students, ensuring applications are assessed accurately, offers are issued within agreed service standards, Confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs) are processed efficiently and student enquiries are managed effectively.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of Admissions Officers through effective workload planning, mentoring, performance feedback and professional development.
  • Monitoring application volumes, team capacity and operational priorities to ensure service levels and key admissions deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Overseeing admissions decisions to ensure they are fair, consistent and compliant with UNSW College policies, entry requirements and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing admissions processes, participating in systems enhancements and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the student experience .
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support a collaborative and customer-focused admissions service .

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and at least 5 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams, including managing performance, fostering engagement and building a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and support teams to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced operational environment, including effective workload allocation and prioritisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in admissions assessment within a higher education environment, including the interpretation and application of admission policies, entry requirements and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and providing an outstanding student experience.
  • A working with children check, or eligibility to apply for a check
