Job summary

UNSW College is seeking a driven Talent Manager to own end-to-end recruitment for the College, including design of a contemporary framework and a focus on sourcing, selection, candidate experience, employer brand, technology and analytics.

You will partner with leaders to translate workforce needs into targeted sourcing strategies, manage senior and specialist roles hands-on, and lead external talent pipelines while upholding a strong student-focused experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading recruitment and selection at a senior level.
  • Experience designing and implementing a contemporary, end-to-end recruitment and selection framework.
  • Experience assessing modern sourcing strategy (direct sourcing, talent pools, LinkedIn Recruiter or equivalent, employee referral and balanced agency channel management).
  • Experience building an external talent pipeline and employer brand presence, including representing an employer at career fairs and events.
  • Experience personally managing end-to-end recruitment for senior, specialist or high-touch roles, including executive and academic appointments.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assessment and design of UNSW College's current recruitment and selection practice, own the design of a contemporary framework (covering sourcing, selection methodology, candidate experience, employer brand, technology and analytics), and lead its implementation across the College, including hiring-manager engagement, capability uplift and post-implementation review.
  • Build and maintain the College's external talent pipeline and employer brand presence. This means representing UNSW College at career fairs, graduate and industry events, and campus outreach activities, and activating the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) across all external-facing channels, including the careers site, advertising platforms, social media and event collateral.
  • Partner with business leaders across all divisions to understand current and future talent needs, translate those needs into targeted sourcing and pipeline strategies, and ensure recruitment activity is aligned to the College's workforce plan and strategic direction.
  • Designing and operating the College's sourcing strategy across direct sourcing, talent pools, employee referrals, agency partners and social channels. This includes curating talent pools for repeat-hire and high-volume cohorts, such as Academic English teachers, with a deliberate balance between direct and agency channels.
  • Actively managing end-to-end recruitment for specialised, senior or priority roles as required, including executive searches, specialist academic appointments, psychometric testing, and roles where a hands-on approach is warranted by complexity, seniority or stakeholder sensitivity
  • Collaborating with academic and professional teams to achieve organisational objectives.

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and organised Talent Manager to join our team on a full time fixed term basis for 2 years. This role offers the opportunity to own the current end-to-end recruitment practice for the College, with a focus on the design of a contemporary recruitment and selection framework.

Your day to day will consist of:

What makes you perfect for the role?

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Minimum five years' experience leading recruitment and selection at a senior level, including demonstrable, hands-on accountability for the modernisation of a recruitment and selection process at a comparable scale
  • Experience designing and implementing a contemporary, end-to-end recruitment and selection framework.
  • Experience assessing modern sourcing strategy (direct sourcing, talent pools, LinkedIn Recruiter or equivalent, employee referral and balanced agency channel management), structured selection methodology (structured interviewing, scorecards, assessment design, bias mitigation and panel governance), and candidate experience design (service standards, measurement and continuous improvement across the candidate journey
  • Experience building an external talent pipeline and employer brand presence, including representing an employer at career fairs, graduate and campus events, and industry outreach activities, and translating business workforce needs into proactive sourcing and pipeline strategies
  • Experience personally managing end-to-end recruitment for senior, specialist or high-touch roles, including executive and academic appointments, where hands‑on delivery is required alongside framework oversight
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
