Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council's Parks & Recreation team is seeking a proactive Team Leader to manage a dynamic group responsible for maintaining our open spaces across the region.

You will operate with remote supervision, lead a dedicated crew at the Greenmount Depot, and deliver high standards of parks maintenance while working a 9-day fortnight with an RDO. Applications close 21 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated horticultural experience, or equivalent qualification and experience relevant to this position.
• Current MR Class Driver's Licence is highly desirable.
• ACDC Spraying Certificate is highly desirable.
• WHS competency (WhiteCard) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• Chainsaw Crosscut Level 2 is desirable.
• Traffic Management Implementation Level II Certificate is highly desirable.
• Leadership and teamwork skills, interpersonal and communication skills, accountability.

• $1,350.67 gross per 38hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65%superannuation.
• Permanent Full timeposition based at our Greenmount Depot.
• Work a 9 day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.

About Parks & Recreation

The Parks & Recreation Team are thesecret behind the Toowoomba Region's beautiful parks and gardens.With over 7000 hectares of public gardens, bushland park,sports and recreation facilities and other open space and anextensive urban forest, the Toowoomba region is well known for itsliveability and green infrastructure. The Parks and RecreationServices Branch is responsible for planning, developing andmaintaining our beautiful green infrastructure, some of which isheritage listed, and keeping up with the strong growth across theregion. The team is a diverse mix of approximately 200 peopleworking as labourers, gardeners, arborists, horticulturalists,plant operators, rangers, cleaners, project managers, landscapearchitects, administrators, regulators and their managers andleaders.

About the position

As Team Leader, you will lead adynamic team dedicated to enhancing and maintaining parks, ensuringthe highest standards of quality and functionality. Operating withminimal supervision, you will lead, motivate, and supervise yourteam in executing a diverse range of maintenance tasks, with aprimary focus on Council's formal open spaces.

In this position, you will operateunder remote supervision.
