Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council's Parks & Recreation team is seeking a proactive Team Leader to manage a dynamic group responsible for maintaining our open spaces across the region.

You will operate with remote supervision, lead a dedicated crew at the Greenmount Depot, and deliver high standards of parks maintenance while working a 9-day fortnight with an RDO. Applications close 21 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated horticultural experience, or equivalent qualification and experience relevant to this position.
• Current MR Class Driver's Licence is highly desirable.
• ACDC Spraying Certificate is highly desirable.
• WHS competency (WhiteCard) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• Chainsaw Crosscut Level 2 is desirable.
• Traffic Management Implementation Level II Certificate is highly desirable.
• Leadership and teamwork skills, interpersonal and communication skills, accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing and maintaining parks.
• Operate with minimal supervision and supervise your team in a range of maintenance tasks.
• Focus on Council's formal open spaces and ensure high standards of quality and functionality.
• Work from the Greenmount Depot with remote supervision.
