Job summary

Workhorse Staffing is seeking an experienced Team Leader for a busy manufacturing operation in Albury. This hands-on role requires leading by example on the shop floor to keep production on track and meet daily targets.

You will supervise operators, set up and adjust machinery (rollformers, punching, folding and cutting), troubleshoot breakdowns, ensure safety and quality, and mentor new team members as the operation grows.

• Experience leading a production team in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to set up, adjust and fault-find production machinery.

• Excellent communication and leadership on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of production operators.
• Set up, adjust and change over production machinery including rollformers, punching, folding and cutting equipment.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Ensure daily targets and customer orders are achieved.
• Identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve production issues.
• Conduct inprocess quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
• Train and mentor new team members and assist with cross-skilling operators.
• Run toolbox talks, start of shift meetings and handovers when required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous team leadership or people management experience is advantageous.
• Mechanical trade background such as Machinist or Fitter.
• Proven previous experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• Experience setting up, adjusting and fault finding production machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• A strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
• The ability to train, coach and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine lead from the front attitude.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
