Job summary

Hardware & General, a long‑standing building supplies company, seeks a Team Lead – Inside Sales to drive growth with builders, tradies and developers from our Brookvale head office. You will lead a team, focus on expanding existing accounts and pursuing new business opportunities.

The role involves overseeing quotes, processing orders and supporting Field Sales while improving customer service and efficiency across branches.

Qualifications

• Your background could be in sales, account management, estimating, construction, property development, engineering, contract administration or business.
• You'll bring commercial thinking, strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to build relationships across teams.
• You don't need to have held this exact title before or tick every box. We're looking for someone who is naturally confident, proactive, analytical and great with people — someone who can lead a team, improve how things are done and take ownership of results.
• Experience in quoting, inbound sales enquiries or building supplies would be valuable, along with the ability to learn and adapt as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Internal Account Managers.
• Grow existing customer accounts, retain customers and develop new business.
• Oversee cross-branch quoting, order processing and quote follow-up for the Field Sales team.
• Manage incoming phone, web enquiries and ensure all customer enquiries are handled promptly and professionally, with a focus on sales opportunities.
• Monitor sales performance, KPIs and quote conversion to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with Field Sales, branches and internal teams to improve processes, service and business results.
• Help shape the structure, processes and future direction of the Inside Sales team.

About the role

Working with builders, tradies, developers and our Field Sales team, you'll play an important role in growing customer relationships, improving efficiency and identifying new business opportunities.
