Job summary

WorkPac Group in Tamworth, NSW is seeking a Level 4 Production Operator - Base/Comp to set up moulds for precast concrete production and assist with fabrication.

The role involves welding, fabricating steel moulds, reading drawings, and using hand and power tools safely. Candidates with Boilermaker or welding/fabrication experience, a valid licence, and the ability to pass medical including D+A are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Boilermaker trade certification or equivalent welding/fabrication experience.
• Candidate must have welding/fabrication experience and ability to read basic drawings.
• Experience with mould set-ups or fabrication work is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare moulds for precast production.
• Weld and fabricate steel moulds and components.
• Read basic drawings and measurements.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Modify, repair and adjust moulds as needed.
• Align moulds for production readiness.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily targets.

• 810 hour days | Early morning starts from 4:00am
• Location: Tamworth, NSW

About Our Client

Our client is a leading precast concrete business seeking an experienced Boilermaker or skilled fabricator to join their yard team. This is a hands‑on role assisting with mould set‑ups and general fabrication work.

What You Will Be Doing

• Setting up and preparing moulds for precast concrete production
• Welding and fabricating steel moulds and components
• Reading and working from basic drawings and measurements
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Carrying out modifications, repairs and adjustments to moulds
• Ensuring moulds are correctly aligned and ready for production
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements

What You Will Need

• Boilermaker Trade Certificate OR welding/fabrication experience equivalent to a trade qualification
• Previous welding and fabrication experience
• Experience with mould set‑ups or similar fabrication work highly regarded
• Drivers Licence
• Ability to pass a medical including D+A

$43.44 per hour base + penalties
