Qualifications

• A relevant Australian Trade Qualification in Boilermaking or Heavy Fabrication.
• Proven experience in heavy steel fabrication, preferably with precast moulds.
• High proficiency in MIG welding and reading detailed plans.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and modify heavy steel moulds to exact specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints and drawings.
• Perform MIG welding, cutting, and grinding on heavy steel.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure moulds withstand high casting pressures.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow site health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricating, assembling, and modifying custom steel moulds to exact specifications for concrete pouring.
• Reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
• Performing high-quality MIG welding, cutting, and grinding on heavy gauge steel.
• Conducting quality checks on finished moulds to ensure they can withstand high casting pressures.
• Maintaining a clean workspace and strictly adhering to all site health and safety protocols.

What You Need to Succeed

• A relevant Australian Trade Qualification (Boilermaking, Heavy Fabrication, or similar).
• Proven experience in heavy steel fabrication (prior experience with precast moulds is highly advantageous).
• High proficiency in MIG welding and the ability to work independently from detailed plans.
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Reliable transport to commute to the Rutherford workshop.
