Job summary

ParagonIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 1/2 to support diverse client environments across Australia. You will provide Level 1/2 technical support, implement basic solutions, and assist with managed services under guidance from senior engineers.

You'll work on Windows desktops/servers, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and security tooling while developing your career in a fast-moving MSP setting. Strong communication and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, and firewall basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to business clients.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across desktops, laptops, servers, networks, cloud platforms, and business applications.
• Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, and Azure environments.
• Assist with user onboarding, offboarding, device setup, and access management.
• Monitor client systems, alerts, backups, security tools, and infrastructure health.
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file shares, and print services.
• Assist with endpoint security, patching, antivirus, MFA, conditional access, and basic cybersecurity controls.
• Support networking equipment including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, and internet services.
• Document tickets, technical changes, procedures, and client environments accurately.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers while maintaining ownership and communication with clients.
• Participate in small projects, migrations, upgrades, and implementation work.

About the Role

As a Systems Engineer at ParagonIT, you will provide technical support, troubleshooting, implementation assistance, and ongoing managed services support across a wide range of client environments.

You will work closely with senior engineers, project teams, vendors, and clients to deliver reliable, professional, and responsive IT services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to business clients.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across desktops, laptops, servers, networks, cloud platforms, and business applications.

Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID, and Azure environments.

Assist with user onboarding, offboarding, device setup, and access management.

Monitor client systems, alerts, backups, security tools, and infrastructure health.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with experience in some or all of the following:

Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.

Microsoft 365 administration.

Active Directory, EntraID, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.

Basic networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, and firewall concepts.

Backup and disaster recovery tools.

Endpoint management and security tools.

Remote monitoring and management platforms.

Ticketing systems and ITIL-style service desk processes.

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A customer-focused attitude and professional presentation.

Preferred Experience

Experience working for a Managed Services Provider is highly regarded.

Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Azure, Defender, Sentinel, or other security platforms.

Experience with firewalls, switches, wireless, and business‑grade networking.

Knowledge of Essential Eight, cybersecurity best practices, or compliance frameworks.

Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos, Aruba, SentinelOne, Acronic, Hyper‑V, or Veeam certifications would be advantageous.
