Job summary

Leaders IT is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join our technology team in Melbourne. You will bridge business and technical teams, analyze requirements, and document BRDs/FRDs and use cases to drive effective technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, CS, BIS, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business/systems analysis.
• Strong requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, and process analysis skills.
• Proven experience creating BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and user stories.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect management, and releases.
• Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and reporting tools.
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, document functional specs, and system specifications.
• Consult with stakeholders to identify needs, objectives, and challenges.
• Conduct workshops and interviews for requirements gathering with users and teams.
• Map processes, perform gap analysis, and assess impact of changes.
• Create BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and workflow diagrams; develop user stories.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and UX.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and testing teams through SDLC.
• Support Agile deliveries: sprint planning, backlog refinement, stakeholder reviews.
• Coordinate UAT activities and ensure solutions meet expectations.
• Analyze defects, root causes, and drive resolutions with tech teams.
• Contribute to new system implementations and automation initiatives.
• Produce reports and insights to support data-driven decisions.
• Ensure documentation meets governance standards.

We are seeking an experienced Systems Analystto join our growing technology team. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, testers, and project teams to analyze business requirements, identify process improvement opportunities, and deliver technology solutions that support organizational objectives.

This role requires a professional who can bridge the gap between business and technical teams by evaluating current systems, documenting functional requirements, and ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and document business requirements, functional requirements, and system specifications.
• Consult with stakeholders to identify business needs, objectives, and operational challenges.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and requirement-gathering sessions with business users and technical teams.
• Perform business process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments to identify opportunities for system enhancements.
• Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), use cases, workflow diagrams, and user stories.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, performance, and user experience.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and testing teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder reviews.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Analyze system defects, investigate root causes, and work with technical teams to implement resolutions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new systems, enhancements, and process automation initiatives.
• Produce reports and insights to support data-driven business decisions.
• Ensure all documentation complies with organizational standards and governance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a closely related role.
• Strong experience in requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, and process analysis.
• Demonstrated experience creating BRDs, FRDs, use cases, process flows, and user stories.
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience supporting testing activities including SIT, UAT, defect management, and release readiness.
• Strong knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and reporting tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
