Job summary

Turbo Scaffolding, an established Australian supplier of scaffolding products, seeks a qualified full-time Systems Administrator. You will support, maintain and improve IT systems, servers, databases and networks, and ensure security and documentation are up to standards.

Key duties include designing database structures, managing backups and disaster recovery, and liaising with vendors. 1+ year of experience is required, with a relevant degree and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking or related discipline.
• At least 1 year of full-time experience as a Systems Administrator.
• Experience administering operating systems, servers, databases and network infrastructure.
• Experience with backups, recovery procedures, security controls and disaster-recovery processes.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server and network problems.
• Strong understanding of system integrity, availability and performance management.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Systems Administrator to support, maintain and improve the company's IT systems, servers, databases, networks and security infrastructure. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve database structures, data architecture, tables and data-management standards to support accurate and reliable business information.
• Install, configure, maintain and support operating systems, servers, databases and associated hardware and software.
• Establish and maintain system backup, recovery and restoration processes, including regular preventative maintenance and testing.
• Implement and monitor security controls designed to protect systems, databases, networks and organisational data from unauthorised access or loss.
• Develop and maintain database and systems documentation, technical guidelines, operating procedures, policies and administration standards.
• Test new systems, database changes, software upgrades and infrastructure improvements, identifying and resolving faults before implementation.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve server, operating system, software, workstation and communications infrastructure problems.
• Manage system-security processes and contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity and system-restoration planning.
• Install, configure, monitor and maintain security applications and other systems-management software.
• Liaise with IT vendors, software providers, telecommunications providers and external technical specialists regarding system requirements, faults, maintenance and support.
• Monitor external technology suppliers against agreed service standards, contractual requirements and service-level commitments.
• Maintain detailed records of system configurations, operating procedures, technical incidents, maintenance activities and system logs.
• Monitor server, network and system performance and make adjustments to maintain efficient, secure and reliable operations.
• Review the existing IT environment to identify future server, storage, database and network requirements and recommend appropriate upgrades or improvements.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of new servers, networks, databases, operating systems and other infrastructure as the business grows.
• Ensure that servers, network equipment, workstations, software, databases and communications systems are properly integrated and operate effectively together.
• Monitor system capacity, security, integrity and performance and take preventative action where potential problems are identified.
• Provide technical support and advice to users and management in relation to systems, infrastructure, access, security and technology-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking or a closely related discipline.
• At least 1 year of full-time relevant work experience as a Systems Administrator.
• Practical experience administering operating systems, servers, databases and network infrastructure.
• Experience with system backups, recovery procedures, security controls and disaster-recovery processes.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, server and network problems.
• Strong understanding of system integrity, security, availability and performance management.
• Good technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal users, management, vendors and external IT service providers.

Salary: $79,423 per annum plus superannuation Position: Full-time Location: 4 Britton Street, Smithfield NSW 2164
