Job summary

Insight IT in Sydney, NSW is seeking a skilled Computer Network and Systems Engineer to design and deploy core servers, enterprise networks, firewalls, and VPNs. You will architect resilient network systems to support pharmacy POS and dispensing hardware and ensure performance and security across client environments.

The role requires 5+ years in IT, strong knowledge of network protocols, security configuration, and server/virtualisation tools, with a focus on reliability and cross-team

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in IT related major.
• Over 5 year of related IT work experience.
• Solid grasp of core network protocols and architecture.
• Practical experience in network security configuration.
• Proficient in server and virtualization technologies.
• Familiar with storage and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Excellent troubleshooting and cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse client IT business requirements and existing system architecture, evaluate constraints and risks, and propose optimal network and system design solutions.
• Design, plan, configure and deploy core servers, workstations, enterprise networks, firewalls, VPNs and virtualised infrastructure for clients; conduct design reviews and technical validation.
• Architect and integrate resilient network systems to support pharmacy POS and dispensing hardware, ensuring the integrated design meets operational, security and performance requirements.
• Monitor network and system performance metrics, analyse capacity and security trends, identify bottlenecks and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Diagnose complex LAN, WAN, server and network system issues, conduct root-cause analysis and implement engineered remediation solutions.
• Design and deploy enterprise cybersecurity controls, architect backup and disaster recovery frameworks for client IT environments.
• Plan and coordinate IT infrastructure upgrades and system rollouts; develop test plans, conduct technical validation and liaise with technology vendors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical design and operational documentation for network and system environments.
• Provide specialist technical consultation for network and system architecture matters.
