Salary Range: AUD $85,000 – $95,000 per annum plus superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Systems Analyst will be responsible for analysing business and technology requirements, evaluating existing IT systems and processes, identifying system and operational issues, and developing practical technology solutions suited to client and business requirements.

The role will involve working across managed IT, cloud, networking, virtualisation, cyber security and remote support environments. The successful candidate will analyse system performance, document technical and functional requirements, assist with solution design and implementation, and work with technical teams to improve system reliability, efficiency, security and service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems Analysis and Requirements:
  • Analyse business operations, technology environments and user requirements to identify system needs, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Consult with clients, users and technical personnel to define, document and prioritise functional and technical system requirements.
  • Investigate system issues, performance problems and operational requirements and determine appropriate technical solutions.
  • Analyse existing systems, applications, networks and infrastructure to assess functionality, integration, reliability and performance.
  • Prepare system specifications, process documentation and technical recommendations to support proposed solutions.
Systems Design and Implementation:
  • Develop and document system solutions aligned with identified business requirements and operational objectives.
  • Assist in the design and integration of cloud, networking, virtualisation and other IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Evaluate proposed technology solutions against technical, operational, security and performance requirements.
  • Assist technical teams with implementation, configuration, system integration and deployment activities.
  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting and validation to ensure solutions operate as intended.
IT Infrastructure and Managed Services:
  • Analyse system performance and infrastructure requirements across managed IT, cloud, networking and virtualisation environments.
  • Review monitoring and maintenance information to identify recurring system issues, capacity requirements and potential failures.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of proactive system maintenance and improvement strategies.
  • Support the assessment of remote monitoring, technical support and infrastructure management requirements.
  • Contribute to maintaining reliable, secure and efficient client technology environments.
Cyber Security and System Reliability:
  • Assess system configurations and operational processes to identify potential security, reliability and performance risks.
  • Assist with implementing technology solutions that support information security, system resilience and business continuity.
  • Review system alerts, incidents and technical reports to identify underlying causes and recommend corrective action.
  • Liaise with technical personnel regarding system vulnerabilities, security requirements and remediation activities.
  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation relating to system configurations, requirements, issues and solutions.
Technical Documentation and Stakeholder Support:
  • Prepare system documentation, technical specifications, process maps, reports and recommendations.
  • Translate technical requirements into clear system and operational specifications for technical teams and clients.
  • Assist clients and internal personnel to understand system functionality, technical requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Monitor implementation outcomes and recommend modifications where systems do not meet identified requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of technology services, systems and support processes.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in systems analysis, IT systems or a closely related technical role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of systems analysis, requirements gathering, technical documentation and solution development.
