Job summary

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our client Ryze IT Pty Ltd in Stanmore, NSW. You will plan, install, configure and maintain Windows Server environments, AD, M365, and network services, ensuring secure operations and data integrity.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, documentation discipline and the ability to work both independently and with a team, in a full-time Australian workplace.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in Systems Administration or a similar IT infrastructure role
• AQF bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent (relevant experience and/or vendor certifications may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications where appropriate)
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID
• Good knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and Wi-Fi
• Experience with system security, backups, patching and endpoint management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT administration software
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a professional, service-oriented manner
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of business, system and client information

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, configure and maintain Windows Server systems, operating systems and associated IT infrastructure
• Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Manage user accounts, permissions, authentication, security policies and access controls
• Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, reliability and security
• Maintain system updates, patching, backups, data recovery and disaster recovery processes
• Administer and monitor databases to support data integrity, availability and security
• Troubleshoot server, operating system, hardware, software and network issues
• Configure and support DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi and other network services
• Assist with system upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvements
• Deploy and manage endpoint devices using JAMF School and other MDM platforms
• Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, security and efficiency
• Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, incident records and asset registers
• Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients and end users
• Liaise with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues
• Assist management with IT-related planning, system improvements and technology requirements
• Ensure IT systems are maintained in accordance with organisational policies, security requirements and WHS obligations

About the Role Reporting to the Manager/Owner, the successful applicant will plan, install, configure, maintain and support the organisation's IT systems and infrastructure ensuring the reliable, secure and efficient operation of servers, operating systems, software, databases, networks and client IT environments.
