Job summary

Sharp & Carter are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to support a large, complex application environment in Townsville. The role involves hands-on application support, SQL Server administration, troubleshooting, releases, and vendor management across around 100 applications.

As the primary technical resource, you will work with TechnologyOne, Chris21 and other enterprise systems, ensuring effective incident resolution, system changes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with TechnologyOne is essential.

• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience including database administration and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join their technology team in Townsville. This is a hands-on technical role supporting a large and complex application environment, with responsibility for application support, Microsoft SQL Server, troubleshooting, debugging, releases and vendor management.

The environment supports around 100 applications, so strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple vendors and stakeholders are important.

This role is based in Townsville with a weekly requirement to be onsite.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance and improvement of business-critical applications and databases, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and deliver system changes.
The role will have a particular focus on TechnologyOne, Chris21 and Microsoft SQL Server, so experience across these environments will be highly valuable.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on application support across a large and varied application environment
• Support and troubleshoot TechnologyOne and Chris21 applications
• Administration and support of on-premises TechnologyOne applications, including ECM, CES, CiA and P&R, and Frontier Software Chris21, encompassing application upgrades, environment refreshes, database troubleshooting, incident and problem management, system configuration, and ongoing application support and maintenance.
• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Investigate, troubleshoot and debug complex application and database issues
• Monitor application performance and identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement
• Work with vendors to resolve technical issues, manage incidents and coordinate fixes and enhancements
• Manage application changes and releases, including testing, deployment and post-release support
• Coordinate technical activities across multiple application vendors and internal stakeholders
• Support major incidents and contribute to root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
• Assist with application configuration, testing, system improvements and technical documentation
• Develop or maintain scripts where required to support system administration and troubleshooting
• Maintain appropriate records across incidents, requests, changes and releases

About You

• Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise applications
• Hands-on experience with TechnologyOne is essential
• Experience with Chris 21
• Experience in the administration and support of on-premises TechnologyOne applications, including ECM, CES, CiA and P&R, and Frontier Software Chris21, encompassing application upgrades, environment refreshes, database troubleshooting, incident and problem management, system configuration, and ongoing application support and maintenance.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including database administration and troubleshooting
• A Microsoft SQL Server / DBA certification or equivalent recognised Microsoft DBA qualification
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues
• Experience managing application releases, changes and deployments
• Strong vendor management skills and confidence coordinating multiple external suppliers
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working across a large application environment with multiple systems and vendors
• Understanding of ITIL/service management principles
• Relevant IT qualifications

This is not a Business Analyst role. We are looking for someone who is technically hands-on, can troubleshoot and debug issues, understands databases and applications, and is comfortable working directly with vendors and technical teams. Experience with TechOne is essential.
