Job summary

HCF Australia seeks a System Analyst to join the Diversified Platforms team and support the applications enabling life insurance, payments and shared services operations.

You will help keep critical applications running, participate in enhancements, defect fixes, software releases and new product initiatives, and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve delivery efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two to three years’ experience in systems analysis or application support.
• Proficient in SQL and data troubleshooting.
• Exposure to SSIS a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience with distributed, cloud-based apps and REST/web services.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile or Scrum delivery.
• Knowledge of relational databases and client-server tech.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.

This is a varied application support and delivery role where you will help keep critical applications running effectively while contributing to system enhancements, defect fixes, software releases and new product initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support One Office and other shared-service applications across HCF’s diversified platforms
• Monitor system batches and investigate production incidents
• Provide first-level application and production support
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve system issues
• Analyse system requirements and assess impacts for new and enhanced applications
• Design practical system solutions aligned with business requirements and solution architecture
• Contribute to defect fixes, enhancements, releases, testing and implementation activities

Required Skills

• Intermediate SQL capability, including the ability to investigate data and troubleshoot system issues
• Some SSIS exposure will be advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Experience supporting distributed applications, including cloud-based applications
• Understanding of relational databases, SOA, REST or web services and client-server technologies
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile or Scrum delivery practices
