Job summary

HCF seeks a System Analyst to join our Diversified Platforms team, supporting life insurance, payments, and shared services applications. You will help keep critical systems running and drive enhancements, defect fixes, and new product initiatives.

Responsibilities include monitoring production incidents, performing first-level support, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders, and analysing requirements for new solutions. Experience with Jira/Confluence and Agile methods is valued.

Qualifications

• Two to three years' experience in systems analysis or application/production support.
• SQL capability to investigate data and troubleshoot issues.
• Exposure to SSIS is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience supporting distributed/cloud-based applications.
• Understanding of databases, SOA, REST/web services and client-server tech.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Life insurance/payments/production support experience is highly regarded.

Job description

We are looking for a System Analyst to join our Diversified Platforms team and support the applications that enable HCF's life insurance, payments and shared services operations. This is a varied application support and delivery role where you will help keep critical applications running effectively while contributing to system enhancements, defect fixes, software releases and new product initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support One Office and other shared-service applications across HCF's diversified platforms
• Monitor system batches and investigate production incidents
• Provide first-level application and production support
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve system issues
• Analyse system requirements and assess impacts for new and enhanced applications
• Design practical system solutions aligned with business requirements and solution architecture
• Contribute to defect fixes, enhancements, releases, testing and implementation activities
• Support project initiatives, including new product launches
• Maintain system availability, data integrity and accurate reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness
• Use AI-assisted tools appropriately to improve analysis, documentation and productivity

Required Skills

• At least two to three years' experience in systems analysis, application support, production support roles.
• Intermediate SQL capability, including the ability to investigate data and troubleshoot system issues
• Some SSIS exposure will be advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Experience supporting distributed applications, including cloud-based applications
• Understanding of relational databases, SOA, REST or web services and client-server technologies
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile or Scrum delivery practices
• Experience using Jira and Confluence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to collaborate effectively with business users, analysts, developers, architects, vendors and delivery teams
• Experience in life insurance, insurance in general, payments applications and production support experience will be highly regarded. Candidates from other industries with relevant technical experience are also encouraged to apply
