Ideal candidates bring Defence or government experience, NV1/NV2 clearance, and the ability to manage security, reliability and performance across mixed environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Defence or Government IT environment is highly regarded.
• NV1/NV2 security clearance is required or must be obtainable.

Our client operates in a complex, highly secure technology environment supporting important Government, Defence and national security outcomes.

With sophisticated systems, technically challenging programs and an established cyber security function, they offer an environment where security professionals can build deep expertise while working alongside experienced technical and security specialists.

As the organisation continues to strengthen its cyber capability, there are currently two opportunities for NV1 and NV2 cleared professionals to join the team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator looking for technical variety, stability and the chance to work in a complex enterprise environment.

Rather than being confined to one technology, you’ll work across servers, networks, storage, virtualisation, security and business applications while contributing to the reliability and performance of the broader IT environment.

The Role

Reporting to the IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager, you’ll join a team of technical specialists responsible for supporting and managing Windows, Linux and network environments.

You’ll provide hands‑on system administration, maintenance and troubleshooting while helping ensure infrastructure and applications remain secure, reliable and operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administering and maintaining Windows server environments


• Supporting enterprise storage and virtualised infrastructure


• Managing backups and maintain system availability


• Troubleshooting and resolving technical incidents


• Implementing and maintaining systems and network security


• Monitoring server, system and network performance


• Supporting LAN and WAN infrastructure


• Evaluating hardware and emerging technologies

The Ideal Person

You’ll bring solid Defence or government experience in systems administration or a comparable infrastructure environment and enjoy solving complex technical problems as part of a collaborative team.

You’ll ideally have experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, Windows 10/11, DNS, DHCP and TCP, together with knowledge of Nutanix, virtualisation technologies and Microsoft Exchange.

Exposure to Linux, enterprise storage, remote support, software deployment, patch management, imaging tools and iOS mobility support will also be valuable.

You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities, communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders and working within structured change, security and quality processes.

Defence experience will be well regarded.

Salary / Rate

• $125k – 140k + 14% Super
