Job description

Overview

Join City of Parramatta as a Swim Instructor at the Parramatta Aquatic Centre (The PAC). The role focuses on delivering City of Parramatta's aquatic education and water safety programs with high-quality lesson content aligned with the program's goals and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct lessons for students in water safety, water familiarisation, learn to swim and squads.
• Plan and deliver lessons with an emphasis on safety and variety for participants.
• Evaluate and adjust lesson plans to cater for the needs of the students.
• Organise and monitor the condition of teaching equipment for each lesson.
• Regularly assess students' progress.
• Provide a customer‑oriented environment.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication through collaborative work practices.

About You

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching swimming and water safety. No prior teaching experience is required. Flexibility and willingness to work a 7‑day rotating roster across multiple facilities is also required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Australian Swimming & Water Safety qualification
• Current CPR Certificate
• NSW Working with Children Check

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in swim teaching/coaching at all levels from Infants to Squads
• First aid certificate
• Current Australian Teacher of Infant & Preschool qualification
• Current Australian Teacher of Access & Inclusion qualification
• Current Australian Teacher of Adult qualification
• Current Australian Teacher of Competitive Strokes qualification
• Pool Lifeguard qualification
