Job summary

Campbelltown City Council is offering Learn to Swim Instructor opportunities at its Leisure Facilities, including The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre. Roles require an outgoing personality, enthusiasm and ability to teach Learn to Swim classes across our centres.

Positions include minimum 12 hours per week with potential for more, including seasonal and casual opportunities. Attractive hourly rate and 12% superannuation are offered, with benefits like fitness program access.

Qualifications

• Current industry recognised Learn to Swim Instructor Certificate (AUSTSWIM, RLSSA or Swim Australia).
• Current Resuscitation certificate.
• Knowledge of how to instruct and plan Learn to Swim classes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Working with Children check.

Responsibilities

• Teach Learn to Swim classes at leisure centres.
• Available to work mornings and afternoons, including Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Able to work at any of the aquatic facilities.
• Assist in planning and coordinating classes.

As part of the Sport, Recreation and Leisure Facilities section, the Leisure Facilities team focus on the delivery of customer centric services and programs that meet the health and wellbeing needs of Campbelltown’s growing population.

About the role:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

• Available to work morning and afternoon, Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.
• Available to work at any of the three Aquatic Facilities.
• You have current industry recognised Learn to Swim Instructor Certificate (AUSTSWIM: Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, RLSSA: Swim Teacher License, or Swim Australia: Swim Teacher Australia).
• You have current Resuscitation certificate.
• You have knowledge of how to instruct and plan learn to swim classes.
• You possess effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• You have valid Working with Children check
