Job summary

Crown Sydney is seeking a detail-oriented Surveillance Operator for a 12-month maximum term contract. You will conduct technical monitoring across daily operations, coordinating with Gaming, Hotels, F&B, Events and Support Services to ensure safety and integrity.

The role requires readiness for a 24/7 rotating roster, with on-site work and opportunities to advance within Crown’s Security Operations. Prior surveillance experience is valued, and candidates must have relevant licences and

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a valid 1AE Security Licence or be willing to obtain one.
• Casino environment experience or knowledge is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated strong observational skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining security and surveillance monitoring and alarms across the property.
• Supporting incident response and coordinating with Security Operations teams.
• Identifying and reporting incidents and suspicious behaviour by guests, visitors, or staff.
• Managing excluded persons or persons of interest.
• Monitoring behavioural patterns to identify risks or anomalies.
• Analyzing and reporting on security and surveillance incidents with accuracy.
• Completing audits of gaming equipment and detecting tampering or defects.

The role

Due to internal promotion, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Surveillance Operator to join Crown Sydney on a 12-month maximum term contract. As a valued member of our team, you’ll be helping to ensure that the safety and welfare of our guests, visitors, residents and colleagues are always maintained by conducting surveillance activities with the highest level of integrity and compliance. You’ll provide technical and electronic monitoring of the Crown Sydney property across daily operations, whilst working closely with our Gaming, Hotels, Food & Beverage, Events and other Support Services departments, including the Security Operations team. Whether you are experienced or looking to expand your skills in surveillance, we offer opportunities to learn, grow and develop within a supportive team environment. We’re keen to speak with Surveillance Operators or Control Room Operators looking to develop professionally and learn something different. To be considered for this role, you’ll participate in a 24/7 rotating roster that includes day, overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts. You’ll be

• Maintaining security and surveillance monitoring and alarms and remaining vigilant for safety, emergency security and integrity incidents or issues across the property
• Supporting critical incident and emergency responses and assisting Security Operations teams with command, control, coordination and communication protocols
• Identifying and reporting key incidents, anomalies and key info relating to illegal or suspicious behaviour by patrons, visitors & staff
• Proactively identify, manage and elevate excluded persons or other persons of interest requiring action
• Monitoring and analysing behavioural patterns to identify risks or anomalies
• Analysing, investigating and providing accurate advice on security and surveillance incidents
• Completing audits of gaming equipment and detecting manufacturing defects or items of equipment that have been tampered with

You’ll bring

• A 1AE Security Licence or be willing to obtain one
• Demonstrated experience in a similar Surveillance role is beneficial (gaming/hospitality environment highly regarded)
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Excellent computer skills with ability to work across multiple systems and platforms
• Strong aptitude in casino maths or relevant qualifications highly desirable
• Exceptional probity clearance and ability to obtain a Casino Special Employee Licence – Category B
