Forster Private Hospital is seeking a Surgical Administration Officer to support the day surgery unit. You will coordinate theatre bookings, pre-admission appointments, admissions and discharges, and assist with eligibility checks, financial consent, and patient administration to ensure a smooth experience for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating theatre bookings and pre-admission processes.
• Proficient with electronic health record systems and data entry.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Book, change, or confirm patient surgical procedures using electronic health record systems.
• Coordinate operating theatre times and book pre-admission clinics.
• Liaise with patients and carers regarding admission and fasting instructions.
• Work closely with surgeon rooms, other departments, and theatre nursing staff.
• Greet patients, verify identity, and complete admission.
• Answer calls and routine inquiries from the public and doctors' rooms.
• Update patient records, insurance information, and billing records; complete fee estimates for uninsured patients.
