Job summary

Mount Isa Mines, part of Glencore, seeks experienced Dump Truck and Water Cart Operators to join the Surface Operations team in Mount Isa, Queensland. You will operate mobile equipment safely and support bulk materials handling and road maintenance on site.

Rotating 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shifts, residential role. Applicants must have Australian manual license and recent dump truck and water cart experience; loader experience is an asset. Relocation to Mount Isa may be required.

The Role

We are seeking experienced Dump Truck and Water Cart Operators who are competent in operating this equipment and are willing to live in, or relocate to, Mount Isa. Reporting to the ISF Shift Supervisor, you will operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently while supporting bulk materials handling, road maintenance and other surface operations across site.

These are residential positions working a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off roster, comprising 12-hour shifts and a 42-hour average week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Safely and efficiently operating dump trucks and water carts across site.
• Conducting thorough pre-start inspections and monitoring and reporting equipment condition.
• Maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance in all work activities.
• Communicating clearly and positively with supervisors, workmates and other site personnel.
• Working collaboratively with other departments, contractors and teams to achieve operational targets safely.
• Promoting a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

• Current and valid Australian manual driver’s licence
• Demonstrated recent dump truck and water cart operating experience is essential
• Loader operating experience – highly regarded
• Strong safety focus, work ethic and commitment to site standards
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
