Job summary

Just Better Care in Gympie, QLD is recruiting Support Workers for casual, in‑home aged care and disability support across the Gympie region.

Your role involves personal care, domestic duties, social support and transport, mobility aid assistance, and monitoring client well‑being. Flexible hours and training opportunities are offered, with a focus on local community support.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, or Home & Community Care (preferred).
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Australian Driver's Licence required; reliable, registered vehicle may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care including showering, dressing, grooming, and medication assistance.
• Assisting with domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Offering social support and transport for appointments, shopping, and community outings.
• Helping customers safely use mobility aids and equipment (hoists, walkers, wheelchairs).
• Supporting clients with complex or challenging care needs.
• Monitoring customer well‑being and reporting changes or concerns.
• Attending staff meetings and required training sessions.

Education

What You’ll Need:

Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, or Home & Community Care (preferred)

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (if applicable)

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Valid Federal Police Check, Yellow Card, and Blue Card

A current Australian Driver's Licence

A reliable, registered, and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance preferred)
