Job summary

Just Better Care Newcastle Hunter is seeking dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality in-home aged care and disability support to clients in your local area.

Work with a friendly, compassionate team, build rapport, and choose hours that fit your lifestyle while helping clients stay independent and safe at home.

Assist with personal care, daily tasks, transport, and essential wellbeing monitoring, using our mobile app to record notes and progress.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support is required.
• At least 1 year experience in Community, Aged, Disability or Health care.
• Current and clear Criminal Record Check and CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home care according to each client's support plan.
• Assist with personal care, transportation, and daily living tasks.
• Monitor well-being and report progress to supervisors.
• Use the mobile roster/app to record notes and update records.
• Maintain safe driving and vehicle readiness.

The role

Working with a roster of repeat clients in your local area, provide care and support that is respectful, dignified, safe, and encourages independence in accordance with the individual's support plan.

Services include

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Social support/transportation for social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well‑being of customers and reporting on their progress
• Provide updates on customer progress following each service

About you

• Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport & good working relationships
• Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile app) for accessing rosters & recording customer notes/feedback

What you will need

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support or equivalent
• At least one year's experience in Community, Aged, Disability or Health care
• Current and clear Criminal Record Check
• Current CPR/First Aid Certificate
• Current Australian Drivers Licence
• Reliable, registered and fully‑insured vehicle
• Smartphone with internet access
