Job summary

Just Better Care is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our Townsville team, with multiple positions available in Townsville and Ayr. Roles focus on in-home aged care and disability support, enabling clients to live independently in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (preferred).
• Current CPR / First Aid Certificate.
• Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check; NDIS Worker Screening Check/Yellow Card; Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance.
• Assist with domestic tasks: light cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Provide social support and transport: accompany customers to appointments and activities.
• Support customers with aids and equipment: frames, wheelchairs, hoists, hearing aids and other devices.
• Support customers with complex or challenging needs and monitor wellbeing.
• Participate in staff meetings and training; contribute to progress reporting.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
• Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required
• Overnight customer support and assistance 1-2 times a week.

What you will need:

• Minimum Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services(preferred)
