Job summary

Just Better Care Canberra & South Coast is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our caring team and deliver high-quality in-home support to clients in Queanbeyan, NSW. You will help with daily living activities, mobility assistance, transport and companionship to enhance independence.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check required.
• Criminal Record Check required.
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Status.
• Current First Aid certificate/CPR.
• Current Australian or International Drivers Licence.
• Reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Smart phone with internet access.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (ACT only).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance.
• Deliver domestic assistance: light housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation.
• Offer social support/transport: accompany to appointments and community activities.
• Assist customers with mobility aids and equipment.
• Monitor wellbeing and report progress to the team.
• Attend staff meetings and required training.

Education

Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
• Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required
