Job summary

Just Better Care in Penrith, NSW, is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our in-home care team. This casual role offers flexible hours in the Blue Mountains and Nepean area, focusing on high-quality personal care and social support within clients' homes.

You will assist with activities of daily living, transportation, and domestic tasks while monitoring wellbeing and reporting progress to the team. A WWCC and first aid are required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for in-home support.
• Proven ability to build rapport with clients and families.
• Comfortable using mobile apps to access rosters and record notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, and medication assistance.
• Offer social support and transportation for appointments and activities.
• Assist with light domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry and meal prep.
• Support customers with aids and equipment and monitor wellbeing.
• Report progress and updates after each shift.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance

Social support/transportation for social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments

Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation

Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment

Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs

Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress

Provide updates on customer progress following each service

About you:

Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills

Ability to build rapport & good working relationships

Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile app) for accessing rosters & recording customer notes/feedback

What you will need:

NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Criminal Record Check

• Proof of Vaccination(where relevant) i.e. COVID-19 vaccination certificate

Current First Aid certificate/CPR

Current Australian Drivers License

Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle

Smart phone with internet access

Current Working with Children Check (preferred)

Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services (or equivalent)
