Job summary

Just Better Care Eastern Suburbs is seeking Support Workers to travel between customers' homes and provide person-centred care and support. You will assist with daily living, cooking, cleaning, transport and social activities to help clients stay independent.

Applicants should have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or related field, current CPR/First Aid, WWCC and NDIS screening. Live in or near the Eastern Suburbs and hold a valid Australian driver's license.

Qualifications

• NDIS experience or background in home care.
• Valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
• WWCC and NDIS worker screening where required.
• Live in Eastern Suburbs or inner west areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and medication assistance.
• Assist with domestic tasks: cleaning, laundry, meals.
• Provide social support and transport to appointments.
• Assist customers with aids and equipment usage.
• Monitor well-being and report progress.

  What you need:

  • Have a reliable car with comprehensive insurance
  • Australian drivers license
  • Live in Eastern Suburbs or inner west areas
  • Valid CPR / First Aid Certificate
  • Proof of Vaccination (where relevant) i.e. COVID-19 vaccination certificate
  • Working with childrens check (WWCC)
  • NDIS workers screening check
  • Experience with Hoist, Bowel Care, PEG feeding.
  • Client prefers female
  • Smartphone with internet access
  • Minimum Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Service
  • Live in or close to our service regions

  What you will do in your role:

  • Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
  • Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
  • Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids
  • Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging needs
  • Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
  • Participating in staff meetings and paid training as required

  Please note we often receive short services and frequent emergency bookings that we require our staff to cover around their regular, on-going and longer services. Domestic assistance (cleaning) is part of the role at times and we only want people that are willing to do this work as part of their roster.
