Job summary

Purple Patch Consulting is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to assist NDIS participants living independently in their own homes on the Gold Coast.

Most supports are low intensity but highly impactful, including domestic assistance, meal prep, transport, personal care, daily living skills, and social support.

You’ll work on a 24/7 roster with consistent hours; we value reliability, dignity, and genuine connection, and provide onboarding, training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Previous paid experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Certificate III in Community Services or another relevant qualification.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence, First Aid with CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check in last 6 months, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

The Gig

• Medication prompting
• Transportation and community access
• Personal hygiene and personal care, including showering, toileting and feeding
• Building daily living skills
• Social and emotional support
• Companionship and getting out into the community

Some days you'll be helping someone get organised at home.
Other days you'll be getting them out into the community.
Sometimes the most important part of the shift might simply be having a conversation with someone who genuinely enjoys having you there.

That's support work.

The Hours Participants generally require support on a 24 / 7 rotating roster

We're currently looking for people who can work various shifts week days and weekends.

There are consistent hours and routine rosters available, but if you're happy to pick up the occasional backfill shift when another team member is away, even better.

What You'll Need There are a few non-negotiables.

You’ll need:

• Previous paid experience as a Disability Support Worker
• Completed Certificate III in Community Services or another relevant qualification
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• First Aid Certificate with current CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check for paid employment
• Working with Children Check for paid employment
• National Police Check issued within the last six months, or willingness to obtain one
• Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Reliable smartphone with mobile data

Qualifications matter. But so does the person behind them.

We're also looking for someone who is reliable, communicates well, respects boundaries and understands that you're supporting someone in their home and their life.

You'll receive onboarding and orientation before commencing, along with ongoing training and development once you're part of the team.

Consistency Matters Casual doesn't have to mean wondering every Sunday night whether you'll have work next week.

The aim is to provide consistent hours and routine rosters wherever possible.
You're Paid Properly Competitive rates, conditions and applicable weekday, weekend and overtime penalties are paid in accordance with the relevant industry award.

Technology That Makes Your Job Easier You’ll receive access to a company tablet to complete notes, review participant care plans and sign in and out of shifts.

There's also an easy-to-use rostering app where you can view and accept available shifts.

Someone Actually Answers the Phone You'll have access to a supportive rostering team that's contactable 24/7.

Because needing help at 7pm isn't particularly useful if the office opens at 9am tomorrow.

You’ll also have access to an Employee Assistance Program throughout your employment.

This isn't the right role if you're simply looking to collect as many shifts as possible.

It isn't for someone who regularly cancels at the last minute.

And it isn't for someone who sees participants as a list of tasks to complete.
