Job summary

Point Care in Townsville offers roles supporting people with disabilities under their NDIS plans. You will assist with daily activities, provide transportation, and deliver respite care while maintaining accurate care records.

The role requires a 30+ female candidate with experience in mental health or willingness to work with clients with diverse needs, plus relevant certifications and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Female (30+ years) as required by the client.
• Experience with mental health and behaviours or willingness to work with someone.
• Minimum high school or equivalent.
• Certificate III/IV in individual support or willingness to study toward completion.
• Lived or paid experience with people with disability.
• Understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work with diverse client base including culture and language needs.
• Basic care and first aid skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan.
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
• Provide transportation assistance to clients.
• Provide respite care to clients and their families.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other care team members.
• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure client safety.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the NDIS field.
